Barbies Dress For Success  

I don't think anyone can argue that the Barbie doll has been the most successful doll in toy history. Dress Barbies have been a 'must have' item with girls for years, and her popularity is still as high as ever. It only makes sense with all of the dress Barbies available along with all of the Barbie accessories It gives girls all over the world hours of fun each day.

What once began as a novelty item nearly 50 years ago, Barbie has had more personalities and careers than you may remember. There have been so many different dress Barbies made. Everything from a mermaid to a president, Barbie has been there and done that. Girls dress Barbies in all types and fashions imaginable. Can anyone recall Barbies pictures in the late 50's? When she first came out she wore a black striped swimsuit. Barbie has changed a whole lot since that time. Perhaps the ultimate in Barbies dress was when she was made into a president. Along the way she has been made into a nurse, rock star, fashion model (which was her original design) and more than 80 other careers in between.

With every form of dress Barbies have sold in, there was never the controversy as the Barbie that was offered in 1992. Mattel made a decision to make up a military Barbie in conjunction with the action in operation Desert Storm. Before Mattel could do so though, the whole line of military dress barbies had to get clearance from the Pentagon before being released in stores. The Pentagon wanted to be assured the uniforms Barbie would be wearing were as realistic as possible.

There have been other makes of dress Barbies that have included her as an Olympic athlete, college student, and of course, a married Barbie. Ken was her trusted companion. You remember Ken, don't you? Not only has barbies dress been numerous, but she has had several pets along the way. It is said that Barbie has had at least 21 dogs, a cat, 12 horses and even a chimpanzee with many other animals mixed in.

These days Collectible Barbie dolls are popular among the masses. There are many different styles and fashions of collectible Barbies available now. There has never been another doll that has been this commercialized, and so well planned out. How long can she continue? Well, that is impossible to say, but with nearly 50 years behind her, I would never bet against another 50 years in the future.
